ORINOCO

Venezuelan cuisine may not top your list of Sunday-morning brunch fare, but that's only because you haven't been to ORINOCO yet. What exactly does Venezuelan breakfast involve, you ask? Well, let's talk Datiles: bacon-wrapped, almond-filled dates. Yes, that's right. Dates — sounds great. Filled with almonds — awesome. Wrapped in bacon — sold. Come lunch, though, it's all about the arepas (a traditional Venezuelan sandwich made in a grilled corn pocket). Fill it with hand-made cheeses, flank steak, and chicken, or even mojo-marinated pork. Takeout and catering options are available, but not on Mondays — both the Brookline Village and South End locations are closed.

ORINOCO | 477 Shawmut Avenue (South End) and 22 Harvard Street (Brookline Village) | 617.369.7075 (South End) 617.232.9505 (Brookline Village)
