Boston Baby Dolls

There’s something so titillating when just a little something is left up to the imagination. BOSTON BABY DOLLS are Boston’s brightest lights when it comes to burlesque, and the best way to stoke our readers’ coals. Focusing on classic burlesque, from the ’20s and ’50s, the group isn’t all about panties and pasties (though that’s a crucial part); in any performance, you may see jugglers, stilt-walkers, fire-eaters, or baton-twirlers. Plus, they offer classes and workshops for those looking to explore the art.

Not to split hairs... because it's not splitting hairs, it's simple fact.... but "The Boston Baby Dolls" ARE NOT, a "Dance Troupe". Their style of performance leaves a good deal to be desired ....in my less than humble opinion.... firstly and foremost; DANCE CHOREOGRAPHY! I wouldn't mind a nomination for "Burlesque" but what they do is nearly never, dancing. Just posing with props and shaking their bits. Which would be fine, were they not advertising themselves as a "Dance Troupe" or for that matter trying to charge $20+ for a majority of their shows.

Dear troll... I mean "Out All Night...":

I can only infer from your comment that you've never actually seen one of our shows. We have several choreographers who work with our troupe, and while we're not The Boston Ballet... who is? Likewise, our ticket prices generally start around $10.

Burlesque is a hybrid of theater and dance. As such, we're active members of both The Boston Dance Alliance and various Boston theatre organizations (StageSource, S.T.A.B., etc.) and all of The Boston Babydolls are trained in multiple forms of dance. That's one of the factors that contributed to our winning this category.

If you'd ever like to educate yourself as to what we actually do at a show instead of hiding behind the anonymity of the internet please contact us through our website. I'd be happy to give you a free ticket.
