Best Chance of Seeing Flying Sharks

"Pine Sharks" at the DeCordova Museum

At the DeCordova Museum, the sculptures  massive shapes in metal and stone  merge somehow with the environment. Giant twists of tubes, intestines, look a part of the edge of the forest. Huge black hearts grow out of the meadow. And there, look, above you in a pocket of pines, three “PINE SHARKS,” suspended, swimming in the air. Made by artist Kitty Wales (Wales sharks?!) from busted old appliances (an oil burner, a fridge, a stove), they’re as natural to the scene as the pinecones on the ground.
