Best Big-Ass Public-Art Baby Heads
"Night" and "Day" the Museum of Fine Arts
Many classical-art institutions flank their vestibules with sculptures of mythological beasts (a nice griffin, say) or gorgeous examples of the beauty of man. The Museum of Fine Arts went a different route for its Fenway entrance, installing two ridiculously large slabs of bronze baby head. Labeled “NIGHT” AND “DAY,” the works by controversial Spanish artist Antonio López García were installed two years ago, but they’re still haunting just off Huntington.
