This neighborhood retains a small-town charm, but is distinctively hip, edgy, and good for you, too (organic is without a doubt the most overused word on Centre Street). Still, there are a slew of not-so-obvious reasons that make this section of Boston the best place to live. JP is only 4.4 square miles — that’s a whole lot of awesomeness packed into one tiny package. Neighborhood residents have been anarchists from the get-go — the area was once part of Roxbury, but the community voted to secede in 1851.
