Puppet Showplace Theater

Puppets — like clowns, music boxes, and the people who make their living dressing up like holiday mascots — are creepy. Why we subject our children to commedias dell'arte performed by dolls with hands up their asses remains a mystery. Still, puppet shows, to some, have grown-up appeal. In fact, in Europe, puppetry is a much-respected theatrical art form. Now those aficionados have a moppet mecca of their very own: Puppet Slam! at the PUPPET SHOWPLACE THEATER. One of the oldest puppet theaters in the country, the Puppet Showplace does performances for all ages, but Puppet Slam! is strictly for the big kids. The collection of satirical mini-plays might offend, but will usually entertain nonetheless. Because who can really be all that offended if the remarks in question come out of the mouth of a cute little puppet?
