The Middle East

The Palm has its celebrity caricatures; Venice Beach has those famous Rubenesque angels rippling across the walls. But they’ve got nothing on the decor at the MIDDLE EAST — the famed Central Square nightclub’s as well-known for its street-smart murals as it is for the music. Beefy guys in Celtics caps; spiky-haired punks; boxy ladies with mullets, real women with curves . . . all in every color of the rainbow. After a few drinks, it’s tempting to chat them up. And if your date’s going badly, at least you have something to talk about, or cleavage to stare at.
