With fancy-schmancy boîtes and bistros opening and closing all over Boston faster than you can say “molecular gastronomy is beyond passé,” it’s nice to remind yourself, every now and again, that there are people in this city for whom sumptuous meals aren’t quite so easy to come by. Thankfully, we have COMMUNITY SERVINGS. A perennial Phoenix readers’ favorite, the organization dispenses more than 3400 lunches and dinners to acutely ill, home-bound Boston-area residents each week. Meals, like roast leg of lamb and cod-fish stew, are calorie and nutrient-rich; best of all, expansion to other underserved communities, like Lowell and Lawrence, is in the works.
