Michael Pope

According to his MySpace page, a “Best of” vote for MICHAEL POPE was “a vote for naked body painted people everywhere!!” To be fair, naked body-painted people do count as visual art, and so do all of the music videos that experimental filmmaker Pope has directed for Ben Folds, and Boston musical darlings such as Fluttr-Effect, The Steamy Bohemians, and our beloved, face-painted Dresden Dolls. Pope’s opus, Neovoxer, a feature film that replaced dialogue with a live musical score and sound effects, is a spectacular, extrasensory juxtaposition of art forms that was born of a collaboration between himself and hundreds of musicians and artists.
