At Broadway Bicycle School, you're going to see the grease. The floors creak. The space is small, and it's not just a place to buy a bike (they specialize in sturdy commuting bicycles), it's also a place to learn how to maintain it. They teach basics, like fixing a flat and adjusting your brakes, as well as more advanced mechanics like headset overhauling and replacing and adjusting your front derailer. It's as hands-on as you want to be.
