ARTS AT THE ARMORY

Joseph and Nabil Sater, the owners of the Middle East, labored with love to open ARTS AT THE ARMORY, a spacious, purple-ceilinged room that provides a music venue and studio space for artists and art education classes — not to mention its four gallery spaces, which play host to a variety of rotating exhibitions. The place brings a cross-section of both artists and audiences, tucked into a bit of a netherworld between Union and Davis squares in Somerville. With poetry series, concerts, art shows, classes, meetings, and all manner of celebrations, the Armory is living up to its ambitions.
