GALLERY KAYAFAS

Arlette Kayafas opened GALLERY KAYAFAS when she was 55 years old. Since then, the South End art space has played host to a series of spectacular exhibitions, memorably the performance art trio Alicia, Kelly, and Sara Casilio, identical triplets who joined with photographer Cary Wolinsky as the collective triiibe in a show last spring. There's a special attention paid to photography at the gallery (Arlette's husband is a fine art photography printer, and they've been collecting photographs over the course of their marriage). It's a small space, and even in these dark economic times, it continues to thrive.
