"Letters To You" by Finch from the album What Is It to Burn (2002)

Around the time of the release of their debut record in 2002, bands like California’s Finch were fusing the melodic pop-punk of late ’90s emo with a scorching hardcore vocal style that was dubbed — for better or worse — screamo. They perfected the popularized version of the sound on this track with brokenhearted longing, and alternately clean singing and brutal screaming.
