The standout synthpop anthem on a damn-near perfect record (1999’s Spectators), this ode to fate finds Wolfsheim lightening up their German darkwave sound for a more stylistic approach. The results are dazzling, and when Peter Heppner cries out that he’s “Standing here on the shores of destiny,” you believe him. Viva La Wolfsheim.
