56. Bauhaus | “In The Flat Field”
"“In The Flat Field”" by Bauhaus from the album “In The Flat Field” (1980)
Labyrinths and pregnant cows, Piccadilly whores and the string of Theseus: “In the Flat Fields” is the sound of Peter Murphy taking goth’s death-urge into a mythological realm. “Into the chasm, gaping, we” he shrieks over a barreling tribal stomp and Daniel Ash’s eviscerating guitar screech, as the madness escalates and the abyss opens its eye and gazes back, violently, urgently, longingly.
