92. Dead Can Dance | "The Ubiquitous Mr. Lovegrove"
"The Ubiquitous Mr. Lovegrove" by Dead Can Dance from the album Into The Labyrinth (1993)
Dead Can Dance had two modes: the gale-force power of Lisa Gerrard’s glottal assault, and the sly dark exoticism of Brendan Perry’s world-beat-Tom-Jones sorcery. “Lovegrove” is a prime example of the latter, as Perry leads the listener down labyrinthine passageways in this Ian-Curtis-fronting-Enigma-sounding smash.
