"Wide Open Space" by Mansun from the album Attack of the Grey Lantern (1996)
Named after cult leader Charles and forcing stateside anglophiles to assure they weren't listening to Marilyn, Mansun were as close to prog-rock as Britpop got. "Wide Open Space," which briefly dented US shores, is a blissful, textured anthem of power-pop grandeur, its sound even echoing mid/late-'90s Faith No More.
