BioWare are the masters of the cinematic “choose your own adventure/gender/scruples” story, thanks to the success of Mass Effect and Dragon Age. But KOTOR remains their high point, because none of their homegrown properties match Lucas’s, and LucasArts has rarely given its flagship cash cow such depth, or ambiguity. The broad moral spectrum illuminates the story: your NPCs include noble heroes, jaded Jedi, and killer droids; and both the Jedi and Sith points of view get a hearing. Stifle your yawns during the combat, and dig the best Star Wars story since Empire. _Chris Dahlen
