Epic. That word alone is enough to describe DII and its expansion, Lord of Destruction — but I could go on. Blizzard built upon Diablo’s randomly generated dungeon-exploration mechanic by adding more in-depth classes, items, areas, and an all-too-necessary “run” button. Like many Blizzard games, DII remains a favorite to this day for Hardcore Ladder veterans seeking to defeat Nightmare, or more casual gamers exploring the seven characters with their friends. Although many current fans also get their fix from knock-offs like Torchlight, expect a resurgence of Diablo love in the near future when Diablo III is finally released. _Haldan Smith
